Aldo Micallef Grimaud, one of Malta’s well known artists and a noted tenor, passed away yesterday, aged 85.
He studied drawing under the tuition of Vincent Apap and Robert Caruana Dingli, modelling under George Borg and Antonio Micallef, etching under Carmelo Mangion and painting under Chev. Edward Caruana Dingli. He then continued studying abroad and participated in many important exhibitions.
A versatile artist whose work ranged from church dome paintings to still-life and landscape painting, stamp designs and theatre set scenery.
